Reclaim, Remix, Revive
Graduate Thesis, Fall ‘24 | Advisors: Lily Chi and Peter Robinson
This thesis explores architecture as a collaborative and iterative process, reframing it through the lens of the commons and the practice of kitbashing. It examines how circularity in design—reclaiming, remixing, and reviving materials and relationships—can empower communities and foster sustainable, shared spaces. By engaging nonprofits, academia, and fabrication labs, it navigates the complexities of social and material networks, emphasizing care, collective agency, and the importance of relationships in creating equitable outcomes. Through workshops, constructed objects, and participatory practices, the work demonstrates how architecture can transcend traditional boundaries to build systems of care, creativity, and resource-sharing in service of the commons.
